Mrs. Wilkes' Boarding House Lunch Spread

Just as one might eat fish and chips with vinegar in England, one might eat okra and tomatoes or collard greens here in Savannah.  In the process there can be an opportunity to gain a few insights into lifestyles and culture in Savannah.  These are our favorite local places (that might not be listed in your travel guide book) where you will most likely enjoy the food and in the process learn about Savannah.

We congratulate Paula Dean for her phenomenal success.  We were at the ribbon cutting for her first restaurant downtown when she cried and could not speak.  She has gone way beyond that.  We offer suggestions on lots of places where you will join the locals in what they do every day...enjoy the richness of Savannah.
